CLEAN ROMANCE: Seaside Gifts by Gayle Roper
ABOUT THE BOOK
Nan Patterson has finally found her niche: operating a boardwalk gift shop in the quaint beachfront town of Seaside. Everything is perfect–until valuable items start just…showing up. At worst, they’ve been stolen and abandoned in her shop. At best, someone doesn’t realize they’ve lost them. Either way, Nan knows she’s out of her depth. Time to call in the local police.
Officer Rog Eastman has bigger worries than a bunch of misplaced treasures—but it is his job to help local shop owners. The fact that she’s adorable doesn’t even come into the equation. Especially since he’s sworn off women for the foreseeable future.
But there’s an imp at work in the background. Someone who knows exactly what these two people need: each other!
REVIEW
Nan Patterson loves her new home, Seaside, New Jersey, where she runs the gift shop left her by her Aunt Char. But when someone starts leaving gifts for her in the shop she is confused and concerned. After calling the police, Rog Eastman shows up, incredulity and all. But Nan is a cute, pixie of a young woman and Rog decides to help her. But things take a turn when the guilty party doesn't reveal him/herself the way he/she promised Rog he/she would, leaving Nan feeling hurt and betrayed. And while Nan and Rog are attracted to each other they have both faced heartbreak before and are unwilling to do so again. But the heart wants what the heart wants. Can they find their way past the hurt from the past and the confusion of the present? I admit, I like this kind of sweet romance. This one is less cheesy than most since the relationship moves along at a realistic sort of pace and they aren't married with three children by the end. And the challenges to the relationship feel appropriate for the situation. A sweet, cute romance for those who like me enjoy that sort of thing. This is a christian romance so there are references to God and his plan as well as prayer and scriptures.

KISS THE COWBOY by Julie Jarnigan
What if your competition for your dream job…was your dream man?
All Lucy Pickett needs to become executive chef in one of Dallas’s finest restaurants is to pull off the high-profile wedding she’s catering. So what if she’s forced to share duties with Dylan Lawson, a modern-day chuck-wagon cook? So what if he’s got rugged looks and cowboy charm? None of that is going to knock her off her game. Until she learns the restaurateur is considering Dylan for the position she wants. Game on—and it’s a winner-take-all event!
Dylan Lawson finally has the opportunity he’s been waiting for to prove he can do more than just be a ranch hand. The only thing standing in his way is the fiery chef fighting for the same position. Will the heated competition scorch any chance they have for love?
REVIEW
When I started this I didn't realize this was connected to a book I'd previously read called The Art of Falling. It was fun to meet up with some of the characters from the previous novella. I fell in love with Dylan right away, I love male leads like him, kind but confident, and his cowboy charm certainly didn't hurt anything. Lucy, it took longer for me to warm up to, probably because she's living the life her family wants and not the one she wants but she's hiding that for herself. But as Dylan helps her remember who she was, he also helps her discover that maybe it's time to stop hiding from the past and pursue the life she really wants.
The contrast between the two chefs I found thoroughly enjoyable as Dylan and Lucy compete for the executive chef job. The ups and downs between the two added to the plot and compelled me to keep reading to find out how things would work themselves out. I appreciated the clean romance and sweet story and the hunky cowboy didn't hurt any. I do after all have a sweet spot for the good guys. And here Dylan helps Lucy find herself, but leaves her free to make her own choices.

CLEAN ROMANCE: The Art of Falling by Julie Jarnigin
ABOUT THE BOOK
Heather Tornsten needs a man…a celebrity, more specifically, for a fundraising gala for the Dallas art museum, where she works. And what better headliner than bull rider Wyatt Lawrence? Although why people idolize grown men who make their living falling off animals, she’ll never understand.
When his mom was diagnosed with cancer, Wyatt determined to focus on doing what she wants—like visiting some art museum. But when his mom teams up with Heather Tornsten to get him involved in a fundraiser, he knows he’s been set up. The more involved he gets with the pretty events coordinator, the more he realizes falling off a bull is far safer. Because falling for Heather–who has made it clear that she won’t risk her heart on any man who courts danger–might break a whole lot more than his bones.
REVIEW
The Art of Falling is a short novella that I enjoyed a whole lot. I loved the characters, especially Heather, Wyatt, and Lorraine, Wyatt's mother. Lorraine's matchmaking efforts are amusing and well-intentioned much to Heather and Wyatt's chagrin. While Wyatt and Heather like each other right off the bat, they have some pretty big differences to overcome. Wyatt's job as a bull rider scares Heather more than she can say after she's already lost her daredevil brother to a risky hobby. She's not sure she can cope with it all. But with faith and courage, she and Wyatt find hope to face the future despite the challenges and their differences. I really enjoyed this sweet romance.

REVIEW
I really enjoyed this book. Read it in two sittings as a matter of fact. I confess to having a soft spot in my heart for books with young children in them and the three in this book are adorable. A handful, but adorable nonetheless. From the first chapter I was pulled into the lives of Callum and Iris who've found a way to make the best of their lives despite some real heartache in their lives. It was clear from the beginning that feelings remained between the two, but some secrets stood in the way. But when Iris's dad does his best to drive Callum away a second time, Iris has to decide what she's willing to do for love. I enjoyed the scenes with Callum, Iris, and the boys interacting especially well. Secondhand Cowboy is a sweet, Christian romance about forgiveness and love and coming home.
