LOVE YOUR LIFE CD by Hilary Weeks

Hilary Weeks has released a new CD that I'd like to share with you. I've really liked the positive messages and sweet tunes of the songs she's done in the past.  I've no doubt this one will be great as well.

  • 11th Hilary Weeks CD
  • Released September 16, 2016
  • Charted at #7 on the Christian Billboard Charts.  I am the only LDS artist to chart anywhere on the Christian Billboard charts and my last 3 CDs have all hit the top ten.
  • This CD was a blast to write because I did a lot of co-writing.  The collaborations were so much fun.  I wrote with Nik Day, Cheri Call, Tyler Castleton, Anjanette Mickelson, Stephen Nelson, Scott Wiley and Dustin Christensen.
  • Dustin Christensen (Co-writer and back ground vocalist on the CD) was recently on The Voice, turning all four chairs during his audition which has over a million views on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nruxkb1EGCM
  • CD was recorded in Nashville with the best musicians Tennessee has to offer.

GENTRI Music Video! This is Wonderful! Check it out!

DARE!
A Music Video by Gentri

The song featured is titled “Dare” and shares the inspirational mandate to dare to dream. We had the enormous privilege to work with a young girl named Alissa Sizemore and her family on this project. Her story is truly inspiring.

About 10 months ago Alissa was involved in an accident with a delivery truck. The truck backed over her leg, and the leg had to be amputated from just below knee down. She and her sisters are dancers, and good ones to boot. Alissa and her family were unsure if she’d ever be able to dance again, let alone in such a short amount of time.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The 360 members of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir represent men and women from many different backgrounds and professions and range in age from 25 to 60. They reflect a medley of unique lives and experiences and are brought together by their love for singing and their faith. Their incomparable voices are the common chord that unites to form the choral group known all over the world as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir originated in the mid-19th century in Salt Lake City. As the Latter-day Saints moved west, Church President Brigham Young included musicians among members of the advance parties. Consequently, a small choir first sang for a conference of the Church in the Salt Lake Valley on August 22, 1847, just 29 days after the first group arrived. The origins of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir may be found in the desire and commitment of early converts to include appropriate music in both sacred and secular events.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has appeared at 13 world’s fairs and expositions, performed at the inaugurations of five U.S. presidents, and sung for numerous worldwide telecasts and special events. Five of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s recordings have achieved “gold record” and two have achieved “platinum record” status. The most popular was the Grammy-Award-winning 1959 release of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

REVIEW

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the beautiful music that I get to hear.  And the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Choir DVD release is at the top of that list.  Last year's concert had Alfie Boe and Tom Brokaw as guests. I'm not sure what to say except that it is wonderful as it is every year. I marvel at the amazing choir, the talented guests, dancers, bell ringers, and orchestra.  The music is beautifully arranged and performed.  The costumes are gorgeous and decorations stunning. As is usual, there were several numbers that I hadn't heard before.  It's nice how they choose both well known favorites as well as lesser known but just as beautiful pieces as well. And the organ solo is mind boggling. I think my favorite number this time is "Bring Him Home" sung by Alfie Boe from Les Miserables. It just gave me chills. Highly recommended for those who love beautiful Christmas music.

Packed with positive inspirational music performed with the passion that has made her famous around the world, Say Love features some of Hilary’s best music yet.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hilary Weeks grew up in a home filled with music. Born in Colorado and raised in Alaska, she began playing the piano at age eight and wrote her first song at age fourteen. Her first recorded song, “He Hears Me,” was featured on the 1993 EFY album, and from there Hilary quickly became a favorite in the inspirational music industry. She has released eight solo albums, has been featured on numerous compilation albums, and has been the recipient of multiple awards from the Faith Centered Music Association. Her most recent album, Every Step, reached #6 on the Top Current Contemporary Christian Billboard list. She also published her first book in 2009, Believe in What You’re Doing, Believe in Who You Are. Hilary and her husband, Tim, reside in Lehi, Utah, with their four daughters.

REVIEW

I don't normally review CD's, I prefer books.  But when this opportunity came up, I couldn't say no and I'm glad I didn't.  I found the music on this CD particularly lovely and touching.  It almost felt at times like the artist/songwriter had looked right into my heart.  The songs were positive and uplifting and beautifully written and sung.  So much music these days is negative that I found it very refreshing to listen to the positive messages about love and courage and God. I highly recommend that you listen to the songs yourself. You can check out the album here. I think my favorite song was "Another Second Chance." I loved this one because it focuses on needing another chance to change after messing up again.  That happens to me all the time. I heartily recommend this music to those who enjoy positive, uplifting music.
