BLOG TOUR: Scorned Justice by Margaret Daley

ABOUT THE BOOK

Texas Ranger Brody Calhoun is with his parents in west Texas when an unexpected attack injures the brother of Rebecca Morgan, Brody's high school sweetheart. The local sheriff, a good friend, asks for Brody's help. At first, it seems an open-and-shut case.

As Brody digs deeper, he realizes the attack may be related to an organized crime trial Rebecca will be overseeing. With Rebecca's help, he compiles evidence involving cattle rustling, bribery and dirty payoffs that shatter the entire community and put Rebecca directly in the line of fire.

Brody expects to protect her. What he never expects is to fall for Rebecca all over again, or for a murder to throw the case wide open. Is Brody's faith strong enough to withstand not only deep-rooted corruption and cattle rustling but also love?

REVIEW

Brody, a Texas Ranger, returns home to San Antonio to take care of his father who recently had a heart attack.  When his good friend, Thomas Sinclair is brutally injured, Brody is put in charge of determining if it was an accident or not.  This puts him in contact with Rebecca, Thomas's sister who has long had Brody's heart. But before he can pursue a relationship with Rebecca he must determine what cattle rustling, bribery and payoffs have to do with Thomas's accident. And whether he and Rebecca can survive long enough to have a relationship.

An intense romantic suspense with Christian values, I quite enjoyed getting to know Brody and Rebecca.  Both characters are strong individuals with a firm belief if faith and family.  It was interesting to see how the two came together to find justice. I'll admit I have a thing for law enforcement/rescue characters so I really enjoyed reading this. Plus the mystery aspects were interesting to read about as well. I'd recommend this to those who enjoy a good mystery with clean romance.
