Abramson knows how to write a thriller. I always have to take a deep breath after I've read one of her books. I also feel grateful that I don't live the life that her characters do. Renee, a CIA analyst, is asked by an old friend to help out a secret government program. When she agrees, she has no idea that it will put her life at great risk. Her efforts to help the guardians leave her working with Kade, an operative who is none to happy to have her around. But as they work together to find out who is targeting them, their feelings start to develop. Unfortunately, Kade's status as a 'ghost' means that the world thinks he's dead, complicating any relationship they might contemplate. In addition, Kade is used to operating alone most of the time and doesn't have an easy time opening up. With the help of the Saint Squad, Renee and Kade must discover who is out to destroy them before it's too late. With plenty of interesting twists and turns, Abramson has written an entertaining and suspenseful story.
